Salem operation strengthens domestic production capacity for space, aerospace, robotics, defense, and other quality-critical industries

TORRANCE, Calif., Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Onshore Technologies, Inc., an American contract manufacturer headquartered in Torrance, California, is announcing the opening of a new manufacturing operation in Salem, New Hampshire. The expansion strengthens the company’s U.S. manufacturing footprint, brings production closer to customers across the Northeast, and supports growing industry demands for resilient domestic supply chains. The new facility is fully operational and supports several industry partners already.

Founded in 1992, Onshore Technologies manufactures custom electrical interconnects, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electromechanical assemblies, and related manufacturing solutions for demanding, quality-critical applications. The company supports programs across the product lifecycle, from early-stage engineering and prototyping through production.

The 10,000 sq ft Salem facility provides advanced electrical and electro-mechanical manufacturing capabilities for customers in the space, aerospace, robotics, defense, medical, and industrial automation sectors. These markets require high-reliability, responsive engineering and problem solving, and the ability to transition complex products efficiently from development to scalable production.

The expansion is being led under the direction of Mark Wilkinson, who has served as Onshore’s CEO since 2015. During his tenure, the company has invested in advanced manufacturing capabilities, expanded into emerging technology markets, and strengthened its position as a domestic manufacturing partner for quality-critical and mission-critical applications.

Experienced Leadership for the Salem Operation

Joe Wilkinson has been appointed executive vice president and general manager of the Salem operation. He brings decades of experience in manufacturing, automation, product development, and biotechnology. Throughout his career, Joe has led engineering, manufacturing, and operational initiatives for high-growth organizations, with particular expertise in scaling advanced manufacturing systems, optimizing supply chains, and bringing new products to market.

His background includes developing and implementing automated manufacturing systems and engineering solutions designed to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability. His expertise will help Onshore support complex customer programs and advance high-reliability manufacturing processes.

Bill McGowan joins the Salem leadership team as head of operations. Previously with TruForm Precision Manufacturing, McGowan brings extensive experience in manufacturing processes, production management, and operational excellence. He will oversee the development of efficient, scalable operating systems as the facility ramps production and grows its customer base.
