Capstone Energy+, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEPL) (“Capstone” or the “Company”), a leading provider of behind-the-meter clean gas turbine energy solutions for industrial and commercial operations, as well as solutions designed for emerging datacenter applications, today announced the delivery of two additional C1000S Signature Series gas turbines to support the continued expansion of a major U.S. midstream natural gas infrastructure project in southern New Mexico.
Secured through Capstone’s authorized distributor, Horizon Power Systems, the additional 2 MW deployment represents the latest phase of a multi-year program for a major midstream operator. The order expands the customer’s fleet to a total of 12 Capstone C1000S gas turbine systems, providing 12 MW of power generation operating across six interconnected gas facilities.
Capstone’s patented gas turbine technology, featuring a single moving part supported by air bearings, delivers low-maintenance, low-emissions on-site power for a wide range of critical infrastructure assets. The multi-bay turbine configuration provides integrated redundancy, maximizing uptime reliability and supporting continuous operations and uninterrupted gas delivery to market.
The project supports a large-scale natural gas infrastructure system spanning more than 200,000 acres and more than 200 miles of gathering pipelines. With utility power unavailable at several remote compressor stations, the customer required a rapidly deployable distributed power solution capable of supporting critical operations, meeting stringent emissions and uptime reliability requirements in remote, high-altitude environments subject to extreme seasonal temperature changes.
“From the early stages of Capstone’s development, oil and gas operators recognized the value of our gas turbine technology. Our low maintenance design makes our products particularly well suited for remote and challenging operating environments,” said Vince Canino, President and CEO of Capstone Energy+. “As energy infrastructure operators continue expanding into remote regions, they need power solutions that can be deployed quickly, operate reliably and deliver exceptional redundancy.”
Canino continued, “The client’s decision to continue expanding its Capstone fleet is a testament to the proven value of our technology and the strength of our repeatable business model. We are honored by the client’s confidence in Capstone’s technology to support critical infrastructure projects time and time again. It also speaks volumes about the outstanding work from our distributor, Horizon Power Systems, whose commitment to customer service and operational excellence has been instrumental in supporting this deployment.”
The deployment began in 2024 with an initial rental fleet of eight C1000S gas turbine systems. Following the project’s successful performance, the client expanded the deployment in 2025 with the purchase of two C1000S systems. In 2026, the client exercised its option to purchase the original eight rental units as permanent assets and further expanded the project with the acquisition of two additional C1000S gas turbine systems, bringing the total fleet to 12 C1000S units.
“This project demonstrates the value of giving customers a flexible path from rental deployment to long-term ownership,” said Sam Henry, Principal of Horizon Power Systems. “By combining Capstone’s proven gas turbine technology with responsive local service and support, we’ve helped deliver a reliable power solution for a complex, fast-moving project.”
The announcement comes as Capstone Energy+ continues to execute on its growth strategy following its recent Nasdaq uplisting, corporate rebrand and return to profitability. Recent project wins include a 2.2 MW expansion at one of South America’s southernmost oil refineries, the deployment of resilient on-site power technology at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, and continued customer expansion across critical energy infrastructure projects, underscoring growing demand for the Company’s distributed energy solutions.
